Buri Ram Governor Thatchakorn Hatthathayakul said the people of the province are happy to host the race and are always improving with feedback.
He said there are work groups that will look after the runners along the route while local people cheer on the runners. Thatchakorn added that the runners will have their best run.
Newin Chidchob, president of the Chang International Circuit, said he aimed to make this race the best in several ways. Runners will be able to get the best Buri Ram foods in one place.
He hoped to attract both runners and tourists to generate revenue for the economy and the happiness of the participants.
The “Buriram Marathon 2023” will kick off at Chang International Circuit, with runners heading to the finish line at Chang Arena.
Along the way, runners will experience nature and gain insight into local ways of life. They will also pass the Huai Chorakhae Mak Reservoir and landmarks like the King Rama 1 Monument. Fans are also expected to cheer on the runners along the route.
The race is already open for registration for four courses:
- The marathon course (42.195 km) will start at 6:30 p.m. and runners must finish at 7:30 a.m.
- The half-marathon course (21.1 km) will start at 8 p.m. and runners must finish at 4:30 a.m.
- The mini-marathon course (10km) will start at 9 p.m. and runners must finish at 2:45 a.m.
- The fun run course (4.554 km) will start at 9:45 p.m. and runners must finish at 1:45 a.m.
In addition, an expo will also be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., allowing runners and participants to purchase sports and health products.
